About Alison

Alison Bulman is a New York-based online psychotherapist specializing in couples counseling, emotional intelligence training, and helping people recover from substance use issues.

 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Cornell University and her master’s in social work from New York University’s Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders focus program.

For 10 years, she has honed her unique, interactive approach for helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, relationship, and addiction issues.

 

For those struggling to stop or control their substance use, Alison brings special training and personal experience in sobriety to uncover patterns of use and stop its negative impact on work and relationships.

She also founded IntimaCities - intimacy workshops, support groups, the Intimacy Overhaul Online Course, and blog.

Alison has trained at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City, and taught the psycho-education program on drug and alcohol recovery at the Manhattan outpatient treatment facility, Inter-Care, Ltd.

She has worked as a psychotherapist for adults, teens, and families at the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services in Midtown Manhattan, with special training in suicide screening and prevention.

 

She’s attended trainings at the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute, and studied mindfulness and meditation at the Dai Bosatsu Zendo in upstate New York, and Transcendental Meditation at the David Lynch Foundation.

As a certified Circling facilitator through Circling Europe, she and her husband, Vincenzo, currently co-facilitate weekly mindful relating events on Zoom.
