Meet Alison

Hi, I’m Alison Bulman—an award-winning author, nationally recognized relationship expert, and the creator of Lovitation®: a transformational communication method that’s changing the way couples connect.
If you’re looking for the best couples therapist—someone who blends deep insight with real-world tools and a warm, relatable style—you’re in the right place.

Why My Approach Is Different

This isn’t typical talk therapy.
My method is original, interactive, and deeply effective.
It helps uncover the unconscious defenses and emotional blind spots that keep you stuck—and teaches you how to move through them with clarity, courage, and compassion. Sessions with me are engaging, eye-opening, sometimes intense, and always full of emotional safety and truth.
Clients often tell me:
“We’ve learned more in a few sessions with you than in years of therapy.”
“You saw what no one else ever saw—and it changed everything.”
I bring a rare mix of clinical expertise, lived experience, and deep emotional intuition to this work—and I’ll guide you through real transformation, not just conversation.

Who I Work With

I work with high-functioning, emotionally intelligent individuals and couples who are ready to finally get unstuck. You might be:
-
A long-term couple who loves each other but feels emotionally distant
-
A newlywed or unmarried couple who wants to build a foundation for lasting intimacy
-
An individual navigating sobriety who’s ready for healthier, more fulfilling relationships
-
Someone seeking what I call relationship preventive care—tools for thriving communication that elevate every relationship in your life
This work strengthens your romantic partnership—but also improves how you relate to your children, friends, family, and even coworkers.

The Lovitation® Method
Lovitation® is the approach I created to help people communicate in a way that fosters real intimacy—especially during the hard moments.
It blends Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Imago, Gestalt, mindfulness, and my own lived wisdom. It’s direct, embodied, and grounded in the present moment—giving you practical tools to shift reactivity, soften defenses, and speak from the truth of your heart.
Couples I work with often leave sessions feeling more in love than they have in years—and more like themselves.

Coming Soon: Book on Mindful Communication
My debut book is launching later this year!
It’s my raw personal love story for singles seeking real connection, a powerful communication blueprint for couples, and a cultural reflection on vulnerability and authenticity in an increasingly artificialized, AI-driven world.
It’s the book I wish I’d had in my loneliest moments—and the one I now offer to anyone ready to change the way they love.

Let’s Work Together

Whether you’re navigating disconnection, early recovery, or just want to deepen the connection you already have—this work will change your relationship. And it might just change your life.
